DevShop
Luciano Arguello built a Mac app that reads your development setup off the filesystem, so you can see every tool, its version and its disk use in one window.
Made by Luciano Arguello.
Why it was made
Knowing what is actually on your Mac
Development machines accumulate runtimes, package managers and duplicate versions until nobody knows what is installed or what is quietly out of date. DevShop reads that straight off the filesystem (Homebrew directory names supply the version numbers) and lays it out in three columns: a health score and the biggest things on disk, the detected toolchain as a grid or sortable list, and the details of whichever tool is selected. Offline rules flag end-of-life runtimes, shadowed installs and missing container runtimes.
It deliberately does nothing to the machine. No subprocesses are spawned, no network requests are made at runtime, and nothing is installed, updated or removed. Where it cannot fix a problem it hands it on: a Copy AI prompt button puts a written briefing of every finding on the clipboard, and Copy setup exports the machine as sorted JSON so two machines can be diffed.
