Why it was made

Every train holiday, in one honest list

Rail vacations are sold by dozens of separate operators, each with their own site and their own way of describing a trip. This site pulls them together: thousands of journeys from 79 operators, compared on real itineraries and prices taken straight from operator sites, with the date each entry was last verified. It also publishes the rail share of each trip, so a tour that is mostly coach travel is visible as such, and notes where a price excludes something like a separately sold rail fare.

It does not take bookings and does not sell placement; the page states that no operator pays to be listed or to rank higher, and booking happens with the operator at their price. There is also a page setting out the method, including what the site does not know.
